Lewis & Clark 8th Graders Tour Career Center and a College

Graduation Matters Billings, a new program at Lewis and Clark, is part of a grant with the goal of keeping students enrolled in school. One aspect of this grant is exposing all 8th graders in the Billings Public School system for different educational opportunities leading to potential careers. On February 28th and March 1st all eighth graders at Lewis and Clark Middle School took a tour of the Career Center and a college here in town which is part of this grant.Students visited the Career Center where they learned about the programs available at the high school level. On their visit, they were taken on a tour of the complete building where they were allowed to ask questions of the teachers and current students.Students were also given the opportunity to visit the City College along with Montana State University-Billings. On the City College campus the students were given a tour of the entire campus and were able to go through classrooms and workshops. At MSUB students were taken through the general areas available to all students and were given an explanation of options available. Students were allowed to ask questions about college life on the respective campuses.
