I Pledge to Graduate Week

Wednesday (March 20)- wear Lewis & Clark colors.

Thursday (March 21)- wear the colors of the high school you will be going to.


Friday (March 22)- wear the colors of the college you want to go to.


Monday (March 25)- wear what you would to your future career.

Mrs Montana speakers to the student body!








Tuesday (March 26)- wear your best dress clothes.


On Monday and Tuesday at lunch there will be a photo booth. Get your picture taken with your friends and a wristband after you sign the I Pledge to Graduate card.

 High school drop outs are four times as likely to be unemployed as those who spend two or more years in higher education. Each year's class of dropouts will cost the country more than $200 billion during their lifetimes in lost earnings and unrealized tax revenue. High school graduates, on the average, earn $9,245 more per year than high school dropouts. High school drop outs are not eligible for 90 percent of U.S. jobs.

By 9th grade, missing 20 percent of school can be a better predictor of drop-out than 8th grade test scores. 


75 percent of crimes in the United States are committed by a high school dropouts.

Current economic projections show that 62 percent of all jobs in Montana will require some postsecondary training beyond high school in 2018 


More than 2,000 Montana students drop out of high school every year, limiting their employment options and causing them to earn $143 per week less on average than those who finish school.



219 students dropped out of Billings High Schools in 2011-2012 which makes Billings High Schools dropout rate 4.8%

In the 9th grade, the male dropout rate is 2.7 percent and 2.1 percent for females. In 12th grade, the male dropout rate is 6.7 percent and the female dropout rate is 4.1 percent.



The dropout rate for American Indian students in grades 7-12 increased from 6.9 percent to 7.1 percent for the 2011-12 year. American Indian students show the highest dropout rates in the 11th grade.



In Montana 82% of students who start their freshman year actually graduate
